Alta Museum is now Eco-Lighthouse certified

We are proud to announce that Alta Museum has been awarded the Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) certification – one of Norway’s leading standards for environmental management and sustainability.

The Eco-Lighthouse certification confirms that we meet strict requirements in areas such as working environment, waste management, energy use, purchasing, and transportation. It provides us with a framework for continuous improvement and helps us reduce our environmental impact while still offering high-quality experiences to our visitors.

As an Eco-Lighthouse, we will:

• Work systematically with environmental and climate measures in our daily operations

• Reduce waste and energy use, and choose more environmentally friendly solutions

• Cooperate with suppliers and partners who share our focus on sustainability

• Report annually on our goals and results

We see this certification as an important step in our efforts to safeguard both our cultural heritage and the surrounding nature – for today’s guests and for future generations.
