The Rock Art Area
During the snow-free season, the outdoor rock art area is open to visitors. Follow well-maintained footpaths to explore this remarkable cultural treasure in the open air

You have the option between a trail of 1,2 km or a trip of 1,9 km. The shorter trail of 1,2 km in the western end will take you to rock carvings that have been painted in red. This makes them easier to see in different weather conditions.
On the eastern side are the unpainted rock carvings. Some of these can be difficult to spot in cloudy conditions, but use our guide leaflet to localize as many carvings as possible. Good luck on your rock art hunt!
PS.
When the first snow falls in October or November, or when the area becomes too icy, the outdoor rock art area closes for the winter. The carvings remain safely preserved beneath the snow until we reopen in May.
The exact opening date varies from year to year, depending on when the snow melts — typically sometime between May 1 and May 20.
